Why I will gladly shut down my Woodforest
i try not to do reviews like this but my problem with this bank is they tend to play with people’s money. Never have I been with a bank that makes you wait forever for your debit card, and then you have to wait 3 days after you get it for another mail for a pin code.
It’s been 2 weeks since my card went missing and I haven’t been able to do nothing because on top of waiting for a card, I have to wait for damn pin code too.... Please do better
Generic banking at its finest
This bank hasn't had a good name since making its way into our town. In fact, people call it Generic ..that name speaks for itself.
Let me say, I worked in a bank for 15 yrs & I have never in my years seen a bank with the most assinide rules, do they make this stuff up or what ? When stepping up to the counter you are labeled before speaking a word. Its like, they will not, cannot and refuse to let a transaction go smoothly like it should. Somewhere in those 10 mins waiting for a simple deposit, yes I said a simple deposit.
For example this is how it goes down., they take your cash/check and your deposit slip., stare at it for about 3-4 mins, deciding rather their gonna give you a hard time over your paycheck that you just worked your *** off for, for the last 2 weeks, then comes the part they go in a dead stare at the computer, eyes going all around, as though watching a really interesting horror show, then the eyes bounce back at the deposit ticket, then to the check, then the computer.,, by then your at about 81/2 mins, then the tapping of the fingers on he counter., as though she saying in her mind, ok., do I accept this or do I not??? No lie, those poor girls makes idiots out of theirselves every time. Oh and by the way, wants to put a hold on my payroll check which is only about the 29th payroll check I've deposited at this slum bank..,? Well today I've heard it all, We, as parents pay my sons insurance as well as other bills, well his daddy over paid his auto insurance, they mailed my son back a check for the over payment back in November, we held on to it until Jan when the ins was due again.
My son signed it over Xmas break, which he lives 3 hours away, doesn't come home often, well his daddy signed his john Henry and that teller jumped up, almost out of her generic high heels, and said "well we can't do that sir" not without your sons name on your account?? What parents go putting their child's name on their accounts ? Seriously ? So., my question is, why have an account there, all they do to me and my family is give us ***.
Let me remind you, he was not cashing it, he was depositing it., *** they could have put a hold if they wanted to . But NOPE., this bank is not here to provide good customer service and serve its people.., we are here to make your life miserable !! I have a friend that has worked for a bank for some time., and our local workforce called her about a job at Slum bank, she's to embarrassed to work there, for all the talk around our town how unprofessional they are. Listen, if your labeled soon as you step up and say Hello, what's the use ?
Their favorite answer is security, we take steps to secure the customer. Well if their that scared over every customer and Thur transactions, something tells me ., their crooks and up to no good. And too top this story off ., NO LIE., I bring up the bank online to get customer service, to explain the details and get some answers., the gentleman says "we do NOT have to put our child on his fathers account" I ask could I get his name and rep #.,, he says sure.., spelled his first name for me., some foreign name., and I ask for the last name? He says I can't give you that info., I'll give you the initial.
And he had no rep #? I ask where am I calling? He says, excuse me ? So I ask again., he heard me the first time .., lol he proceeds to tell me., "IM IN THE CARRIBEAN AT A CALL CENTER".., lmao .., I give up !!

I had a conversation with Woodforest Bank today. They still refuse to give me a written apology.
They just wanted to know the name of employee at their bank who told me about when this letter was mailed.
I may be old but not stupid. I am starting to wonder if they do...

I have also noticed that most of the people at the local branch never seems to last long and when you go in they seem to be overwhelmed
I'm an older person on Social Security, and it seems they believe that people like me don't matter, they seem to go with the corporations.

Great bank
I have been banking with Woodforest for 4 years an I have never had an issue...as a matter of fact they helped me and my husband when our acct was so overdrawn We couldn’t pay it ...this bank is awesome...when I call into customer service they are nice and helpful as well...wood forest helps their customers not hurt them...I deal with the one on garners ferry road inside of Walmart in Columbia SC....I live in Sumter and the bank is 45 minutes away..why do you think I have a bank that’s 45 minutes away from me when there are banks less than 5 minutes away from my house...wood forest is the best...
Charging customers and bad customer service
Went to the wilson rd bank location in humble tx.i wanted to get my deposit statements for the last couple of months.after being told its 5.00 a page and several minutes of fast rude talking BS I went to another branch.walked in..no charge..walked out..no problem.i needed that same statement again today and once again but this time through the 1800 line that they could email me the 3 page statement..EMAIL....and charge me 15.00...should i charge the bank to so honered to have me as a customer and allow my money to be in their bank.because woodforest sure does act like its a privleage to bank with them.other issue is when i go to a certain store and try to get gas or run my card in any way.it is blocked and i have to sit in the parking lot and wait on customer service to argue with them that here we go again pl wss ase turn my card back on so i can get gas and go home.its one thing after another.i wouldnt recomend that anyone gets woodforest as a bank..
Credit Unions Rock
I closed my account at Woodforest Bank today. I was being charged a fee because TurboTax tried to withdraw money out of my account which I had already paid to TurboTax.
When I tried to resolve the situation with my bank they told me that I sign a paper when I open the account agree to this charge no customer service no help no trying to resolve the problem.
I would not recommend using Woodforest bank if you are a hard-working US citizen. My recommendation would be to try a local credit union they Rock.

been waiting a week and a half for a new debit card due to I was cyber hacked and the bank caught most of it. just got my debit card yesterday but can't activate due to no temporary pin issued to me.
my other card was expired and still waiting on an it. my life is completely on hold. I'm barely surviving.
closest bank is over 1000 miles. I may have to have a friend loan me money for a bus or train ticket to close my account and then risk taking a substantial amount of money back on bus or train.
Oh, we hear your frustration! All you have to do is talk to people that have done business with woodforest.
In my opinion, they don’t care about you. They just want your money, in my opinion.
